At the City Council meeting on August 20, 2024, Cheryl Nelson was honored for her twenty years of dedicated service to the Alturas City Council. Nelson, who first took office in March 2004, has been a passionate advocate for youth activities within the community and a constant supporter and advocate for the Alturas Fire Department and public safety initiatives throughout her tenure.
