Cheryl Nelson Honored for Two Decades of Service to Alturas City Council

At the City Council meeting on August 20, 2024, Cheryl Nelson was honored for her twenty years of dedicated service to the Alturas City Council. Nelson, who first took office in March 2004, has been a passionate advocate for youth activities within the community and a constant supporter and advocate for the Alturas Fire Department and public safety initiatives throughout her tenure.

Mayor Paul Minchella presented Nelson with a Resolution of Appreciation, acknowledging her many years of committed public service. Nelson’s work on the council has left a lasting impact, particularly in promoting programs and services that benefit young people and ensuring the safety and well-being of Alturas residents.

Her dedication to the community and the values she upheld during her time on the council were highlighted during the meeting, making it a memorable moment for all attendees.
