The Fish, Game Recreation committee was informed in February by rancher Ray Anklin of the possible kill of a calf by wolves on his property. At 7:00 a.m. all was well and by 10:30 a.m. his feed crew discovered a wolf eating at calf.
DFW Biologist will not confirm that wolves killed the calf because a carcass could not be salvaged. Mr. Anklin has video of two wolves and photos of 4 ¼” to 4 ½” tracks. There are reports of a large pack headed towards Modoc from Oregon.
