Aimee Lynn Boulade Remembered: Beloved Educator, Community Leader, and Advocate for Children

Aimee Lynn Boulade

Aimee Lynn Boulade, 38, of Alturas, California passed away February 22, 2024 at her home. Aimee wasborn May 10, 1985, in Alturas to Larry and Diane Boulade.

Aimee participated in 4-H starting at nine years old until she graduated high school. Showing rabbits,sheep, horses and pigs. After graduating she became a 4-H leader for horses for several years and pigs.She was a member of Modoc Horseman’s Association where she won several buckles and trophies.

One of the highlights was in 2000 when she won reserve hi point and received a jacket. She showed herhorses in Klamath Falls, Lakeview and Susanville. She loved working with horses. Haltering breakingcolts for several people around town through the years. Aimee also enjoyed judging horse shows whichincluded Modoc Horseman’s, Fall Play Day, and the Sheriff Posse Junior Horse Show.

Aimee graduated high school in 2003 than went to Shasta College a couple years, then came home and wentto work for My School (preschool) while taking online classes with Shasta, Western Governs University,Cero Coso College and Lassen to complete her degree for preschool teaching and administration. Shealso took courses from Penn Foster Career School on Wildlife/Forestry Conservation. She worked atAlturas Elementary School in special ed and preschool.

She worked part time in the mornings for WoodGateway Ranch, feeding, cleaning stalls, breeding and training their horses. She volunteered for theForest Service between jobs, working at their front desk reception. She ran the Surprise Valley Preschool for a couple years. During this time Aimee started taking in foster children. She touched the lives of so many of these kids and loved them all dearly. Surprise Valley was one of her favorite jobs.

She loved taking her kids to the Country Hearth to see Jan, the owner. Then Aimee opened up a home daycare in her house. During this time, she fostered, then adopted her son Hunter. Last fall she started teaching atthe continuation school in Alturas. This was challenging for her but very rewarding, she loved teaching.Working with children was her passion.

Starting in high school, she kept score for Basketball and volleyball games for the high school and middle school.
Aimee is survived by her son Hunter Michael Earl Boulade, 6 years old; her parents Larry and Diane Bouladeof Alturas, brother Shawn (Tina) from Sherwood, Oregon, nieces Mackenzie and Peyton Boulade; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Preceded in death by her grandparents Remy and Agnes Boulade, and Cecil and Shirley Vermillion.
Services will be held March 16, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. graveside at Fort Bidwell Cemetery; then a Celebration of Lifefor her at the Brass Rail in Alturas.
