(Video) Modoc County Public Health hosts a Successful Narcan Harm Reduction Clinic

“By raising awareness, providing education and training, and making Narcan available, we can help prevent overdose deaths and support those who are struggling with addiction. We can’t stop people from using but we can help educate the importance of helping people. You may not be an active user, but maybe your family member, neighbors, or even co-worker is struggling to overcome the disease. Addiction is a disease, not a character flaw. People suffering from substance use disorder (SUD) have trouble controlling their drug use even though they know drugs… Overcoming a SUD is not as simple as resisting the temptation to take drugs through willpower alone.

My goal with partnering with public health is to help keep our community safe for everyone and educate people to not judge your neighbor but to be the shoulder, the eyes, the ears they need most. Not everyone sees it that way. But, with education I believe it’s possible!”
