Sheriff’s Bookings

In recent updates from the Modoc County Jail, a series of arrests and releases have been reported. As of Monday, the jail accommodates 30 individuals, consisting of 4 females and 26 males, with a total capacity of 43. Additionally, one person is serving time in another facility.

On April 16, 2024, Nicko Allen Correa, aged 33 of Alturas, was incarcerated to serve a sentence for a DUI conviction and is currently held without bail. Darcy Louise GAONA, aged 36 of Alturas, was arrested for DUI and child abuse, subsequently released on a signed promise to appear.

Kevin John Lyons, aged 73 of Alturas, was booked and released on April 18, 2024, for failure to appear on a misdemeanor warrant. Miles Edward O’NEIL, aged 37 of Alturas, faced court booking and release for DUI and driving on a suspended license on the same day.

On April 18, 2024, Gianluca Nunzio Faia, aged 21 of Alturas, and Esther Raque KAMINETZKY, aged 20 of Alturas, were both arrested for various charges including burglary, grand theft, conspiracy, and vandalism. They are currently held on $50,000 bail each.

Arlen Javier Gonzalez, aged 32 of Alturas, was arrested for violation of parole on April 19, 2024, and is held without bail. James Lee Crampton, aged 42 of Alturas, was arrested for violation of a court order and resisting arrest, with bail set at $6,000.

Doreen Elaine Maxwell, aged 60 of Lookout, CA, was arrested on April 20, 2024, for evading a peace officer, possession of a controlled substance, and disorderly conduct/loitering on private property. She is held on $20,000 bail.

Finally, on April 21, 2024, Hector Hernandez, aged 29 of Alturas, was arrested for DUI and released on a signed promise to appear. Rebecca Lynn JOHNSON, aged 26 of Pine, OR, was arrested for disorderly conduct related to drugs and alcohol and also released on a signed promise to appear.

The Modoc County Jail remains operational amid these developments.

2:50 pm: Responded to assist with structure fire in MRE area.

4:05 pm: Responded to assist Alturas Police with noise complaint.

5:19 pm: Search warrant conducted in Alturas.

7:56 pm: Responded to MRE area for report of dog at large.

8:31 pm: Responded to assist Alturas Police with an altercation.

8:38 pm: Traffic stop conducted in Newell area; warning issued.

10:41 pm: Traffic stop conducted in Newell area; warning issued.

11:07 pm: Traffic stop conducted in Newell area; warning issued.

11:35 pm: Responded to Adin area for report of suspicious vehicle; vehicle pursuit ensued, arrest made.
