Beverly Anne Crum Swarm, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2024, in Gresham, Oregon, at the age of 85.

Beverly Anne Crum Swarm, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2024, in Gresham, Oregon, at the age of 85.

Beverly was born on May 28, 1938, in Redding, California, to Allan and Esther Crum. She spent her formative years on the Crum family farm in McArthur. Beverly pursued her passion for education, earning a degree in elementary education from Chico State University. She dedicated several years of her life to teaching in the intermountain area, leaving an indelible impact on the lives of her students.

On July 19, 1959, Beverly married the love of her life, Robert Swarm, in San Antonio, Texas. Together, they shared a beautiful journey filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories until Robert’s passing.

Throughout her life, Beverly resided in Big Valley, primarily in the towns of Lookout and Bieber, California. She and Robert co-owned and operated Lookout Motors in Lookout, California, for 12 years, demonstrating their entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to their community.

Beverly was known for her nurturing nature and her remarkable talents. She possessed a gift for teaching and shared her expertise in sewing, gardening, quilting, and baking bread with countless individuals. Her passion for quilting led her to establish a successful machine quilting business in 1994, which she operated until the age of 84.

A philanthropist at heart, Beverly dedicated her later years to creating hundreds of quilts for children’s charities, embodying her boundless love for her family and all children.

Beverly is survived by her daughter, Bonnie Kist, and granddaughters, Sophia and Charlotte Kist, all of Gresham, Oregon; sister, Barbara Joiner of Lookout, California; brothers, Melvin Crum of John Day, Oregon, and Don Crum of Bend, Oregon; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Swarm, and sister, Ida McAlister.

Services will take place at the Lookout Cemetery in Lookout, California. A celebration of life for Beverly and Robert Swarm will be held on August 17, 2024, at the HoodView Seventh-day Adventist Church in Boring, Oregon. The service will be available for viewing on the Church Website. Condolences may be sent to bonniekist@frontier.com.

Beverly’s kindness, generosity, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her. May she rest in peace, knowing her legacy of compassion and service lives on in the hearts of those she touched.
