Summer Meals Available at AES Amid MMS Construction

Modoc Joint Unified School District is pleased to announce that Summer Feeding Services will be hosted at Alturas Elementary School (AES) this year, due to ongoing construction at Modoc Middle School. While the location has changed, the commitment to nourishing our community’s children remains the same.

Any child aged PK to 18 is welcome to enjoy free summer meals—no need to be enrolled in summer school or part of the district. This program is open to all youth in the area, helping ensure every child has access to nutritious food throughout the summer months.

Meal Times

  • Breakfast: 7:30 AM – 8:15 AM
  • Lunch: 12:00 PM – 12:30 PM
  • Program Duration: June 10 through August 8

Please note that this program is a voluntary service offered by the Food Services Department. As such:

  • Children are expected to follow the same behavior standards as during the school year.
  • Disruptive or inappropriate conduct will not be tolerated.
  • Adult meals are not available, and no adults may be on campus without a visitor pass during summer school hours.

This summer, meals will be served primarily from our brand-new food truck, which allows us to offer even more home-cooked meals using fresh, locally sourced produce. We’re especially excited about a new partnership that will bring valley-fresh fruit to our menu all season long.

Families are encouraged to complete and return their SunBucks applications, which were mailed out recently. These benefits are essential for many families—if you have questions or need assistance, please reach out.
