Conor Boyle, Ryan Weber, Jafeth Mendez, Jake Hallmark and Jordan Maddox after their big win

In a grueling matchup under the scorching sun, five players from Modoc High School contributed to a triumphant 13-6 victory at the 47th Annual Lions All Star Football Game. The game saw temperatures soar to 103 degrees as teams from northern and southern small schools clashed this past Saturday.

Among the standout moments was a 30-yard touchdown reception by Modoc’s Ryan Weber in the fourth quarter, which helped seal the win for the South team. The Modoc High players, who had been training at Shasta College throughout the week, received high praise for their performance.

Assistant Varsity Football Coach, Budmark, expressed his pride in the team’s accomplishment. “I am so proud of our boys!” he said, highlighting the significance of their victory for the small community.

The annual event, which pits top players from northern versus southern schools, provided a platform for Modoc High School to showcase its talent on a larger stage.
