Last weekend, the Missoula Children’s Theater presented Pinocchio at the local theater, featuring a lively cast of 62 local kids. This was one of the best turn outs in a long time!
The moment the curtains opened, it was clear that these young performers had put in plenty of effort. Each scene sparkled with their enthusiasm.
Cricket became a crowd favorite, drawing laughs with well-timed jokes and spirited banter. Pinocchio, of course, carried the heart of the story, reminding us why this classic tale still resonates today. The catchy “ABC” song had both kids and adults nodding along.
Despite only a week of rehearsals, the cast worked together seamlessly. Their energy on stage was genuine, and it’s always fun to watch each child grow more confident at the end of the performance. It was a joy seeing them support each other throughout Pinocchio’s journey.
By the time the show ended, the applause was loud! And for good reason. Watching so many young performers share their talents reminds one how fortunate we are to have a program like the Modoc Arts Council. It’s important communities support theater programs! Especially ones that give children this kind of creative outlet. If you missed Pinocchio this year, keep an eye out for the Missoula Children’s Theater’s next production!
