Candidate Filing Closes Friday, August 9, 2024 for the November 5, 2024 General Election

Those interested in running for local office in the November 5, 2024 General Election
have until the close of business on Friday, August 9, 2024, to file all necessary
paperwork.

Candidates have until 5:00 p.m. to complete their candidate filing with the
Lassen County Clerk-Elections Division located behind the Historic Courthouse at
220 South Lassen Street, Susanville, CA 96130. The deadline also applies to local
jurisdictions who intend to place a measure on the November ballot.

To date, numerous candidates have filed to run for office in local school and special
district races being held during the November 5, 2024 General Election, in Lassen
County.

A complete list of the seats open for election and a list of local candidates is
posted on the Lassen County Election webpage at https://www.lassencounty.org/dept/county-clerk-recorder/elections, or can be sent to you upon request by calling 530.251.8352.

If an eligible incumbent does not qualify as a candidate by the close of business on
Friday, August 9, 2024, the candidate filing period will be extended another five (5)
calendar days and will end at the close of business on Wednesday, August 14, 2024.
Anyone eligible, other than the incumbent, may file during the extended candidate
filing period.
