Elks Dinner Meeting

The Lodge opens up at 6. Dinner will begin at 7 pm. 

Meeting will start at 8 pm. 

It will be $10 a person

Friday April 26th

“Kids Day” at the Rotary Baseball Fields on West C St starting at 9 am- 12 pm. This event is referenced to be “Morning in the Park.” So many wonderful things and memories to be made on this day.

Kindergarten open enrollment

Kindergarten enrollment will begin on April 25th at Alturas Elementary School.  Please come to our office and get your Enrollment packets and join us on April 25th for Our Kindergarten Round up. Any Questions call AES @ 530-233-7201. 

April is National Poetry Month 

There will be an evening with Poetry at the Alturas Library on Friday, April 26 from 5:30pm-6:30pm . Come enjoy an evening of reading, reciting, or just listening to any form of poetry. Original or published works can be shared in an informal open mic setting. Refreshments will be available. All are welcome to come by the library at 212 West Third Street in Alturas.

Saturday April 27th

Local Yarn Store Day at Warner Mountain Weavers 459 S Main, Cedarville at 12:20 pm. Come and celebrate with a potluck lunch. Bring your favorite dish and bring something that you would like to work on. “Drop by” with Adrienne will be from 1-3pm

Wednesday May 1st

Surprise Valley Service Club at 6 pm at the Cedarville Community Church if you want more information please reach to Sandy Stevenson at 530-240-2007. 

Upcoming Events

The Alturas Chamber of Commerce 1 st Annual Flea Market and Community Wide Yard Sales. Saturday, May 4, 2024 from 9am-3pm. Flea Market will be at the Main Street Park next to Plumas Bank and Yard Sales will be held throughout the community. Vendor booths at the park are $40 each and $15 for yard sales-this includes getting your house on a map and the Chamber will advertise for you. Setup for the Flea Market will be at 7:30am. Shoppers can pick up a map the day of at the park or the day before from Plumas

Bank or Ship Right. The Chamber will be serving a Pulled Pork Lunch which includes sandwich, coleslaw, chips and water for $12.00 the day of at the Main Street Park. You can pre-purchase your tickets for the lunch at Plumas Bank or Ship

Right, and then just drive up and pick up your order, this will help us determine how much to supply so we won’t run out. We will be offering delivery of lunch to our Yard Sale folks at their homes.

If you would like a spot at the Main Street Park or would like to have a Yard Sale and have us put you on the map and advertise for you, please pickup forms at Plumas Bank or Ship Right and return them by April 25, 2024.
