Modoc Alzheimer’s Awareness Color Run Set for September 14th

The community is invited to participate in the Modoc Alzheimer’s Awareness Color Run, scheduled for Saturday, September 14th at 9 a.m. The event will begin at the Warnerview Skilled Nursing Facility in Alturas, offering a fun-filled family walk and competitive run, with awards for top runners in various age categories.

Organized by TEACH Senior Services, the event aims to raise awareness about Alzheimer’s disease, with all proceeds benefiting TEACH’s programs for seniors. These services include home-delivered meals for homebound seniors, congregate meals for community members over the age of 60, and other vital activities supporting the well-being of the elderly in Modoc County.

Awards will be given for the fastest runners in several categories: Fastest Male, Fastest Female, Fastest 40-59 years, Fastest Over 60, Fastest 9-12 years, and Fastest Under 9 years.

Participants who registered before August 30th will receive an event T-shirt and a goodie bag. Registration forms are still available at the TEACH office, located at 112 E 2nd St., Alturas, CA.

For more information or questions, community members are encouraged to visit the TEACH office or call (530) 233-3111.
