A small tornado touched down in the fields off Jones Lane last Friday afternoon, surprising those who witnessed it happening. Jennifer and Elsie Flournoy, locals in the area, managed to capture a photo of the rare event. While dust devils are common in Modoc, especially with the area’s many ranches and high winds, this was an unusual occurrence for Northern California.
