Surprise Valley FFA students paint fire hydrants in town

In a collaboration with Surprise Valley Chamber of Commerce, Surprise Valley FFA and Cedarville Volunteer Fire Department give Cedarville a red makeover

The fire hydrants in Surprise Valley are getting a fresh, bright red makeover thanks to a collaborative effort between the Surprise Valley FFA and the Cedarville Volunteer Fire Department and Surprise Valley Chamber of Commerce.

Local kids from the FFA have been working together to paint and restore fire hydrants throughout the community. This initiative aims to make fire hydrants more noticeable and easier to identify for first responders and residents alike.

Bright red fire hydrants are crucial for ensuring they are easily spotted, preventing people from parking in front of them. This visibility is especially important during emergencies when every second counts.

In addition to aiding first responders, the freshly painted hydrants will help residents recognize their locations, particularly during winter when snow can obscure them. The updated look serves as a reminder of the community’s commitment to safety and the proactive efforts of its younger members.

The Surprise Valley FFA, Surprise Valley Chamber of Commerce and Cedarville Volunteer Fire Department encourage everyone to appreciate the hard work put into this project, ensuring the safety and well-being of the community.
