Three Modoc High School Students qualify for California State High School Rodeo Finals

The event is set to take place June 9-15 in Bishop, CA

MacKenzie Hughes, Molly Teuscher, and Jozie Hannah, all Modoc High School Rodeo

participants have qualified for the 2024 California State High School Finals to be held in Bishop June 9-15. Hughes qualified in the goat tying event. She is the daughter of Todd and Susan Hughes of Alturas. Teuscher qualified in cutting and is the daughter of Jami and Aaron Teuscher of Alturas. Hannah, the daughter of Amy and Zack Hannah of Likely, qualified in both cutting and reined cow horse.

The three ladies have been competing all winter and spring in District One, the largest of the California High School Rodeo Association (CHSRA). The district is made up of Butte, Colusa, Glenn, Lassen, Modoc, Plumas, Shasta, Siskiyou, Tehama and Trinity counties. The CHSRA was founded in 1971 and is the State Chapter of the National High School Rodeo Association. Divided into 9 Districts, California has over 800 members.
