Get involved in the Modoc Fair event

Modoc skies have been serving up some spectacular sunrises and sunsets and migratory birds and wildlife arereturning to the area. Soon, area livestock will also be returning to the range. This means it is a great time to grab your camera and take some special photographs to showcase at the 2024 Modoc District Fair, August 22-25th, in Cedarville.

Meadow larks are back filling the air with songand spring is on its way, which means now is the time to plan your Fair exhibits. Finish up those art, crafts, sewing, woodworking, preserved foods, and other projects you have been working on over the winter and select the plants you would like to grow, the pots you plan to grow them in, and firm up your ideas for your floral, garden, and agricultural exhibits.

Last year’s Fair boasted nearly 1,500 individual building exhibits, with approximately $3000 in cash awards presented to winning exhibitors. With your help, we can top that number this year!

This is also your opportunity to win $50.  To win, submit your suggestion for this year’s Fair Theme by April 2nd (please include your full name, address and/or phone number and mail your submission to the Modoc Heritage Foundation, POB 295, Cedarville, CA  96104, or leave a voicemail message at 530.233.9636).

If the Fair Theme you submit is selected, you will win $50!Don’t worry too much about past Fair themes – just put your creative thinking caps on!

The Modoc Heritage Foundation is once again pleased to be planning and hosting the Fair, in partnership with the 34thDistrict Agricultural Association. The Foundation is comprised of unpaid volunteer members committed to the Fair as a unique platform to provide our adult and youth with opportunities to showcase their talents and learn by doing.   Membership dues are just $20 and if you would like to help, click on the ‘Get Involved’ tab at www.modocheritagefoundation.org to download a membership application.
