The Modoc High Varsity Volleyball team is off to a steady start.  They started the season on August 16th against Quincy with a loss.  With only a couple of practices in, they struggled to find what worked and lacked chemistry.  The very next day, MHS Varsity made a showing at the Durham tournament and improved with every match they played.  On August 20th, the Braves traveled to Lassen High School and came out with a win, 3-2.  A couple of days later they had traveled to Enterprise High School in Redding, and repeated with a win, 3-2.  The team faced Quincy at home on August 31st.  They did not win, but they played much better than the first time they had met them, taking one set and keeping the score fairly close in the other three. The girls defeated the Lassen Grizzlies at home on Tuesday, September 3, 3-1.  “As the season moves along, the MHS Varsity Volleyball team is getting stronger and is developing in complexity, they have found a base rotation that works, but will continue to work on building team chemistry and communication,” states Volleyball Coach Erin Sandage. They are looking  forward to an excellent season.
