Carolyn Richardson was an environmental attorney for the California Farm Bureau and
a firm believer that the stewardship of land, water and profitable farming are not
incompatible. She dedicated her time working for solutions of endangered species,
water and grazing in Modoc County, both the Tulelake and Goose Lake Basins.

Shelby Criner, a 2022 Graduating Senior from Modoc High School has been selected to
receive the 2024 Rustici Scholarship administered by the California Farm Bureau. The
Rustici Livestock and Rangeland Scholarship provides financial assistance for students
who are interested in preparing for a career in rangeland management and an emphasis
towards cattle and sheep ranching in conjunction with good rangeland practices.

The Russell Rustici Livestock and Rangeland Scholarships began in 2007 and there
has been over 1.52 million dollars awarded from this scholarship program.

Shelby is the daughter of Brad and Ruth Ann Criner from Canby California. She is
