PSA 2 Area Agency on Aging Awards Grants to Support Older Adults in Five Counties

The Planning and Service Area 2 Area Agency on Aging (PSA 2 AAA), established in 1980, continues its mission to support older adults and adults with functional impairments in Lassen, Modoc, Shasta, Siskiyou, and Trinity Counties. As part of California’s Senior Network, which includes thirty-three planning and service areas, PSA 2 AAA tailors its services to meet the unique needs of each community it serves.

Recently, the Executive Board of PSA 2 AAA announced significant funding awards for various program services under the Older Americans Act. Notably, Modoc Counties T.E.A.C.H Inc. received two grants, totaling $156,295, to support programs under Title III C-1 and Title III C-2. These programs are essential in helping older adults maintain their independence, dignity, and choice, enabling them to “age-at-home” and avoid premature institutionalization.

The grants reflect PSA 2 AAA’s ongoing commitment to enhancing the quality of life for older adults in these Northern California communities.
